Pride Parade..What I Wore

Today was the Pride Parade here in Vancouver :) Me and the kids headed downtown with our good friend Cynthia to show our love and support. We dressed a little more fun. Every year we go down I always say to myself, "Tawnya, get festive!", ( I never do) and when I get there and see all the amazing and beautiful people dressed up I always feel a little left out :( BUT not this year I tell you. Simple but fun. Anise brought her fairy wings and magic pixie wand to "sprinkle love" she tells me. I ended up carrying them.. xo

What's Up Buttercup?..What I Wore

This is a dress from my shop. Not sure why it sat in there for so long but now it's mine..LOL You can't tell from the photos but the pockets are huge and have the sweetest embroidered flower on each of them. Hope everyone is having a great weekend :) xoxo

ps. if my dress looks a little big in the waist it's because the elastic had snapped and I didn't even know..LOL It's all fixed now and fits even better! :)

To Go Blonde or Not to Go Blonde?

A while back I had the intention of going blonde...that never occurred. Instead I went with a few highlights. I was so terrified of my hair being fried :( I kinda wanna go red next and then maybe back to brown for the winter. I have had some pretty scary instances with dying my hair...one including a $400 hair correction and I still came out looking like Ziggy Stardust. I collected a bunch of shots of my hair through out the years. Maybe one day I will have the guts to share..LOL. This was quickly taken with my phone. It looks a lot darker than it really is. Have any hair horror stories? xo

SabrinaTach..Leather Bags

I have been looking for a vintage 70's fringe boho bag for sometime now...with no luck. I found one a few weeks ago with the perfect shape, size and just the right amount of tassels but it wasn't vintage. It was micro suede with pleather accents. I passed. So the search continues.

On Etsy's front page last night was one of the most beautiful tasseled bags I have ever seen! I am in love. The artist, Sabrina Tachdjian is the brilliant designer behind SabrinaTach * Leather Bags. Her photos are breath taking. The most amazing bonus is the tanneries used by Sabrina Tach have strict environmental policies. All the leather comes from animals bred in free-range Uruguayan estancias and are by-products of the meat industry.

Here are my favorites.. xoxo

Zucchini Chocolate Chip Bread and Random Days

This is going to be few blog posts combined I wanted to share with you. The first is this cutest photo album I snagged for Anise. It is in pristine condition. She is so excited to start filling it up. She has her own little durable kids digital camera. It actually takes all right photos :)

The second set of photos are from our lazy day under the tree reading books and eating snacks. Probably one of my favorite things to do.

While I was doing my spring cleaning I found this amazing and quite hilarious book called, "The Complete Book of Table Setting and Arrangement. It was my mother in laws and was signed to her in 1956. It is really out of date but still a lot of great tips for proper dining. I am a huge stickler about table manners and how to properly eat and handle silverware. One that is a huge pet peeve for me is when out at dinner and I see people slap the butter on the whole piece of bread or bun. Your suppose to take a bit of butter and place it on their bread plate and rip a piece off your bread or bun and butter them individually. Sounds tedious I know but it just makes eating the bread so much more edible and slows down your eating. The photos in this book are great as well. I loved this card table setting in particular. I had a photo of the book in my pictures but it disappeared and I couldn't for the life of me get it back on. Which is sad because it is the most beautiful blue leather bound book. Blogger and I have been having a love/hate relationship lately. I can't even comment on others blogs...I have tried like a million times!

I posted a jewelry box in an earlier post and wanted to paint it. I finally got around to it. It looks a million times better.

Lastly is this amazing Zucchini Chocolate Chip Loaf recipe I found over at Creations by Kara. It was so good!!! My kids gobbled it up! I wish sometimes I wouldn't have to hide some veggies in certain things I bake or cook. But I guess getting them in my kids any way I can will have to do for now. xoxo
